Banyuwangi Pilgrims Conduct Hajj Ritual Practices Ahead of Departure
suarapecari.com – In preparation for their forthcoming pilgrimage, the Banyuwangi pilgrims have commenced their Hajj ritual practices at various locations, notably under the guidance of the Hajj and Umrah Guidance Group (KBIHU) at Darussalam Blokagung, Tegalsari Subdistrict, Banyuwangi Regency.
The two-day Hajj ritual practice, spanning from Saturday to Sunday (May 4-5, 2024), was directly overseen by the Chairman of KBIHU, KH. Hasyim Syafaat, and was attended by all pilgrims affiliated with the KBIHU.
Present at the Hajj ritual practice session were also the Head of the PPIH Group (Indonesian Hajj Organizing Committee), Syafaat, and the Pilgrimage Guide of the Pilgrim Group, Muhammadun.
KH Hasyim Syafaat, Chairman of KBIHU Darussalam, emphasized the significance of the Hajj ritual practice session, asserting its pivotal role in enhancing the pilgrims’ understanding of the pilgrimage journey.
“As the departure date draws near, we deliberately organize this ritual practice session to ensure that pilgrims do not forget the essential rites,” stated KH Hasyim Syafaat.
Muhammadun, the Pilgrimage Guide of the Pilgrim Group, conveyed that the material presented to the pilgrims encompassed knowledge that would be practically applied during the Hajj pilgrimage by all Banyuwangi pilgrims departing in the second wave.
“We simulate the journey of the Hajj pilgrimage starting from donning the Ihram garments at the Surabaya embarkation point, to the intention of Umrah while aboard the aircraft flying over the Yalamlam region,” elucidated Muhammadun.
Furthermore, Syafaat, the Head of the PPIH Group, highlighted that the more pilgrims partake in the Hajj ritual practice sessions, the better prepared they will be in fulfilling the obligations of the Hajj pilgrimage.
“Most pilgrims only have one opportunity to perform the Hajj pilgrimage, hence it is crucial to avoid errors, especially concerning obligatory rites,” emphasized Syafaat, addressing the media.
It’s noteworthy that the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Banyuwangi Regency has scheduled six Hajj ritual practice sessions at the sub-district level, with two sessions at the regency level and one session for refining guidance by team leaders and groups. Each pilgrim group is also assigned a Pilgrimage Guide ready to assist the pilgrims throughout their journey.
