Rice University demonstrated a “tree puzzle” installation among campus oaks as part of broader efforts to promote sustainability. Many of these initiatives were funded through private donations and host committee support, and were accelerated because of the World Cup timeline.
Downtown improvements include shade structures and new trees along Main Street Promenade. Safety patrols will be increased through collaboration between clean-and-safe teams, METRO police, and other law enforcement agencies during the event.
The World Cup will feature 48 teams for the first time, with hosts United States, Canada, and Mexico. Brazil’s squad includes experienced players alongside younger talents, while Scotland’s roster reflects a mix of veterans and newcomers under Clarke’s leadership.
Clarke reiterated that the international scene remains separate from domestic disturbances, and he is confident the Tartan Army will make many friends in America. He also condemned the pitch invasions at Celtic Park and elsewhere as harmful to Scottish football’s image.
